Over the week end we at The Roo Brothers Catering were lucky enough to be invited in the launch of the new sparking wine by chandon call "S". Working with Marc Edwards Agency Emma Mumford to assist with a traditional French boulangerie themed event as part of the launch, in front of Star City in Pyrmont Bay Park. The brief from Emma was that The Roo Brothers were to provide artisan pre proofed bread dough, house made traditional pate, candied orange zest and some cornichons and served in eco friendly packaging.
Why the pre proofed dough? Well, the guests were invited to add the same ingredients that the wine maker used to create the " s" with orange bitters, various spices such as cardamom and cinnamon into the dough at the boulangerie workshop. From there The Roo Brothers baked their individual bread creation and when it was baked it was served our ready to be eaten hot with the pate and condiments and, of course, matched with chandon "S" built on ice, served as a cocktail, while lounging around on rugs in the sun, with smell of freshly baked bread wafting over the park. Not a bad way to spend a weekend
